05.05.2012 - News update

For a fully illustrated account of the last two Antarctic trips during January (3D filming) and February (ski mountaineering) with Skip on board see http://www.pelagic.co.uk/pagesnews/news_011.asp

Pelagic Australis is on her last trip of the season after two successful Tierra del Fuego and Cape Horn cruises. She is now in the Beagle Channel before they begin the end of season delivery back to Cape Town with a full compliment of ‘students’ taking the RYA Yachtmaster Shorebased Course in Puerto Williams followed by the Pelagic Syllabus (all else to sail a boat) en route.

For a great feel about what these two week TDF trips are like, see the blog from a boat load of Aussies that just returned Down Under Read pdf of blog here>>  – amusing and entertaining? You bet! Mate Laura also blogged, from the crew’s perspective click here to view her blog

The original Pelagic has just landed in Uruguay for the winter and Chris Harris will be flying to Cape Town in June to start the refit of the big boat. She is available for cost effective solutions to see all the venues south. See Chris’s blog for the past season’s voyages . Dave Roberts, crew on Pelagic Australis the last two seasons will take over and skipper Pelagic in October. She is available for a cost effective South Georgia charter from end of October.

Next season is filling up fast, faster than last season at this point in time. We are now booking for 2013/14. However, we still are wide open for our October 2013 South Georgia cruise. I am open to suggestions!

Porridge ice in the Penola Straits. The consistency is like wet concrete and can be a ship stopper.
